Single standard room with washbasin (shared shower) without breakfast£45 per night
Single standard room (shared facilities) without breakfast£35 per night

  • All rooms are modern, but most are in older buildings, often among the historic buildings of the college. Some rooms may overlook college courtyards, and some overlook city streets.
  • They are typical Cambridge student accommodation; although they are modern and comfortable, please don't expect high hotel standard. • Where breakfast is included, it will be self-service in the college's old Dining Hall.
  • Where breakfast is not included, you can buy breakfast of your choice for cash in any of the nearby cafés or in a college cafeteria. Directions to cafés/cafeterias will be sent out together with directions to your accommodation.
  • Internet access is included. All ensuite rooms and most standard rooms have internet access via an ethernet cable. A handful of the standard rooms have wireless internet only. If the wi-fi signal is weak in the room, strong signal can be obtained in various public areas of the college (common rooms, bar, cafeteria). Further information about internet access will be sent out together with directions to your accommodation.
  • Only SINGLE rooms are available, no double or twin rooms. If you require a double room, please look below in 'Other accommodation options'.
  • The earliest possible check-in date is Tuesday, 30 August, and the latest possible check-out date is Monday, 5 September. In the online registration form, you can book a room for 3-6 nights. If you require a different number of nights or different dates, please contact ak243 @ to check the availability.

Hotel du Vin
15-19 Trumpington Street, Cambridge CB2 1QA
+44 1223 227330
send e-mail or request callback through the hotel webpage

Advertised price range for a double room: around £190 - £340/night.

This appears to be one of the best rated Cambridge hotels, with quirky architectural features, stylish bedrooms, hand-sprung mattresses, Egyptian linen, 'monsoon' power showers, great food and wine, plasma TVs, high speed wireless internet access and air conditioning available in all rooms. It is located just south of the city centre. I would recommend asking for a garden room, since the street can be quite busy and therefore noisy.

Doubletree by Hilton
Granta Place, Mill Lane, Cambridge CB2 1RT
+44 1223 259988
send e-mail through the hotel webpage

Advertised price range for a double room: around £180 - £240/night.

This hotel is more predictable, modern, with great views of the river (as it is located by the river), and a bit closer to the Sidgwick Site (the conference venue) - so less to walk. Both wireless and wired internet are available. I've read some reviews and in general they are quite good - though avoid room 118, as apparently it has/had a noise problem (one can/could hear the beeping of the dishwasher at the end of its cycle in the kitchen!).

Crowne Plaza Hotel
Downing Street, Cambridge CB2 3DT
+44 8719 429180
send e-mail through the hotel webpage

Advertised price range for a double room: around £155 - £350/night.

This is one of the most central hotels in Cambridge. A glance at reviews suggests that is probably quite average as far as hotels go, but should be comfortable. It is modern, has high speed wireless internet and air conditioning. It is located on a busy street and above the entrance to a large car park, so it may be good to specifically request a quiet room (in particular, one away from the car park entrance).
